RULE #1: Your baseball team should not represent an entire fucking state
Fake ass baseball Colorado and Arizona.

What bullshit. Suburban baseball, bullshit baseball.

Can we get a team in the World Series that existed before 1985?

This might make me even hope the Red Sox win, who, despicable as they are, and fake-underdog-victim-complex as are their fans, are at least a real fucking baseball team named after a fucking city.

Jaysus F.

1. Rule #2: Only one fucking team per city!
White Sox or Cubbies? Choose now, Chicago, or your whole city will sold to Brazil!

2. Two teams per city always
It's the real way.

Dodgers Yankees Giants.

North side South side Cubs and Sox.

That's real baseball. Fistfights in the bars, spilling the Old Style. Real baseball.

Fucking "Arizona." "Colorado." What douchebags.

Mets.

NYC transplant to Chicago...:-)

But it's a fucking city! I was even pulling for the Phils tonight, despite the greatest late season collapse in modern history, because at least Philly is REAL baseball, and not a fucking "colorado"

I'm sorry. To be honest I was really hoping the Rox would win that playoff game because I was sure we could beat the Phills. The Mets? I think they could have beaten us on paper so I was a little worried about them.

Better luck next year. But, before you go around criticizing teams that represent an entire state, you should find out if the "New York" in "New York Mets" is for the state or the city.

Nevertheless.

My team's been out for a week. I still hate fake baseball.

I have to be all American League now, which is at least 3/4 serious: Boston, New York, Cleveland: real baseball (fuck Los Angeles...formerly fake baseball "California." And no, the New york Yankees aren't the New York State Yankees. The Dannemora Bombers? Naw.

what difference does it make?

Colorado Rockies... while Denver is big enough to support a team, it is also possible that the team gets support from more places than Denver

and the Denver Rockies sounds stupid

The Denver _____ might have been another choice

hell, i live in Arkansas, we have no pro teams

(no i haven't lived here all my life and the pirate plank shortness saying wasn't heard here)

the whole state rallies around 1 of many college teams in the state...

are the new jersey nets a real team? what about the new england patriots? the colorado avalanche?

and what the hell does it matter how long the team's been around? a good team is a good team

39. Congratulations
Now yer catching on.

New Jersey Nets: borderline, soon to be the Brooklyn Nets, in any case.
New Jersey Devils: real, cuz their fans are real.
Texas Rangers: bullshit suburb team.
New England Patriots: meh.
Colorado Avalanche: Bullshit team, though strangely, when they were the Quebec Nordiques, they were real.

You don't get the hostility? You don't get the joke.

16. And the Minnesota teams?
Understand that the citizens of Minneapolis hate the citizens of St. Paul, and vice-versa.

If the teams were not names "the Minnesota X", there would be problems. And the market is not big enough to support two teams in every major league.

...the team I've loved (and hated) for 35 years would be called the DFW Metroplex Rangers.

Have to admit that it is shrewd marketing though. Why not take it up several levels?

The United States Yankees.... The North American Dodgers...The Terran White Sox...The Local Group Twins... The Milky Way Athletics?

22. As a little kid, this confused the hell out of me
Back then I didn't know where the "Golden State" Warriors played, somewhere in the middle of the state I guessed, and I figured it was the same place the California Angels played. Same with the New Jersey Nets, Texas Rangers, etc.

Later while living in Tucson, they changed the Phoenix Cardinals to the Arizona Cardinals so that we would buy season tickets to watch them lose in the 105 degree Phoenix heat of September --and then they started blacking out the NFL in Tucson when Phoenix could not sell out. I learned Sunday was a great day to be OUTSIDE and have never felt the same way about football again.
