I went and viewed "In the Valley of Elah" today.
I did want to see "Michael Clayton", given that the reviews on the film were excellent despite the fact nearly all reviews said certain parts are predictable. Well, so happens for me there is no theater in the Portland, ME area that is playing the film. So, I went to see another film that has also been getting some good reviews, "In The Valley of Elah"

I give high marks to all in the film. Tommy Lee Jones, Susan Sarandon, Charlize Theron, and Jason Patrick did a fantastic job in the film. What also played a part was the film's look. Colors seemed subdued and faded and the filming was done during the winter when there are no leaves on the trees and scenery has this depressed grey look to it. It fit the film's story perfectly.

I won't give away any details or spoilers. I would hope some here at DU would go and see the film since it is quite relevant to today. Keep an eye out for the very last scene and you'll see what I mean.

I thought to posting this on another board but kept it here in the lounge instead.

1. My dear freethought...
Well, then the least we can do is respond!

The movie sounds interesting...

Maybe I'll catch it later, on DVD...

Since I don't go to the movies in the theater anymore!

Thanks for the rec!

:hi:

2. I saw it a couple weeks ago
I found it excellent. I am surprised more people here have not seen this film.
You are dead on about that last scene in the movie. It really got to me.
