Why does the wind hate me?
I got up early this morning to run a quick 12 miles. Strong wind in my face the first six miles, but I'm thinking "well, I'll have a little easier time on the return". I turn around and after 1 mile I notice the wind has now shifted 180 degrees to be BACK in my face and blowing harder than ever!

This isn't the first time either. Seems the wind either hates me, or really really likes me and wants to rush up and meet me.

1. Did the same to me almost every day when I had to bike to and from work.
The main road that took me 3/4 of the way there was like a wind tunnel with the trees and buildings nestled on both sides... and when the sun was up, the wind went one way, and when the sun was down, the wind went the other. Probably just a heating/air pressure thing or something.

And I worked evenings, so I'd usually leave between 4 and 5 pm, when the sun was up... and come home between 11 pm and 2 or 3 am. When the sun was down.

I still have pretty damn strong legs, and I left that job almost 3 years ago. :)

4. It's a heating thing here too.

I start running away from the coast, but as the sun heats the ground, the offshore winds start picking up, so by the time I turn around I'm facing into it. I guess I should look at it like you...as extra training. :)

6. Actually I looked at it as a pain in the ass... :)
Believe me, I didn't need bigger, stronger legs. I had naturally big legs from spending every day walking and standing. (and still do, but that's because I work at a warehouse lifting heavy things now. And that whole lifting with your legs thing works.) It's hard to find jeans that fit because they expect someone with legs my size to be fat, so either it's too loose around the waist, or the waist is the right size but I can barely get the jeans up past my thighs.
