Columbus Day=Fire Trucks?
For the last twenty minutes, an unending parade of fire trucks has been making its way through my neighborhood. With sirens blaring. Constantly.

Now, I'm no dummy when it comes to history, but did I miss something about the events of 1492? The Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria, and the Wynn 700 Pumper?

1. Columbus used a fire engine to pump out the bilge.
Every schoolchild knows that.
