Worst grade school/junior high social mores.

I don't know what made me think about this today. It was really popular around 5th or 6th grade, maybe a grade or two later, to have what we called either opinion pads or slam books. The slam book was probably more accurate. It would be several pages of questions with space for about 10-15 people to answer. It would start out with what is your name, your favorite color, then go on to "What do you think of ---(insert person's name)?" It usually had several pages of that. I can remember it being passed around and I always hated it when my name was one of the ones listed. Some people were nice but others were not. And you always focus on the negative ones and forget the positive ones.

I know some people really hated the dreaded "pick your teams for kickball or basketball" or whatever.

One thing I truly hated in high school was the required dance in PE. It was always some kind of square or folk dancing thing we had to learn as a group. Then they would have the girls go stand in a circle and let the guys go stand behind the one they wanted to dance with. It always ended up with your friends laughing at who was behind you and the guys shoving each other behind some ugly girl. What a nightmare.
