I've run into my ex on a "support" website |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-09-07 01:30 PM by mycritters2
I had just been lurking on a support site last night. This guy kept posting these song lyrics and nothing else. Apparently does it all the time--all hours of the day and night. I was trying to figure out if he was a musician, some kind of academic, what? So, I made one post--asking what he does for a living. Well, it turns out it was my ex-husband! And so then he posts a bunch of my private info on the site, to let me know he knows who I am, I guess.
I changed all my e-mail addies and other info after the divorce, because he and his parents were kind of cyberstalking me. I don't use any addies with my name, to keep them from finding me. But he knew right away who I was...so he's still creepy, apparently. I reported the abuse on that site, but what's done is done.
I go from being astonished that the one post I made was to him, to being upset that he's still keeping track of my e-mail addresses and the like. We've been divorced for 10 years. I really don't want him wandering into my life.
I can't believe I was married to him.
When I need support, I'll stick to DU. What he did on that site would've gotten him TS'd here.

It is scary. What really creeps me out is that I was moved to respond to his posts. I keep telling myself it was just dumb luck, but what if I still have some deep psychic connection to that POS.
God, what is wrong with me?!
Thanks for the hug. I need it!

If he even once harasses you beyond what he did last night, get a restraining order.
This has the hallmarks of him being a stalker, abuser, and one, so obsessed with you after 10 years, may have the potential to find you and work to destroy your life or you.
Hope you did a screensave on that post and/or printed it out with date/time documentation.

I just printed out the post with the date/time stamp.
If anything more happens, I'll get a TRO.
Good advice! Thanks!

Have you read Gavin DeBecker's "The Gift of Fear"? Sounds like it could help you validate some of your feelings.

I'll get this. Sounds like it could be helpful to me in this situation, and with parishioners as well. Thanks! :hi:

7. Oh, if only he'd spent his time doing nothing but this during our marriage. |
|
That would've been the least of my problems.
Thanks for the hug!
