Any DUers in/near Flatonia, Texas?
We'll be here:

Monday night.

We're splurging on the King sized bed room for $59.99.
Ashtrays included.
Oh, and a $10 discount for AARP members.

I may just move in permanently.
No more mortgage payments, taxes, or insurance.
And MAID service.
Man!

I LOVE the name 'Flatonia'.
Sounds like something from a Marx Brothers' movie.

When I made the reservations I asked if there were any eateries nearby.
"Aw hell yeah. There's a McDonald's across the street, and a Dairy Queen. And there's Joe's Barbeque."
"Barbecue any good?"
"Aw yeah. I eat lunch there every day."

I'm SOLD on Flatonia!

3. We moved there after a stint in Boringville, IA. The name "Flatonia" sounded so full of beauty and
vigor!

6. I wouldn't bet against you...
We used to have to drive from Louisiana to California, and I remember the first time we stopped at some random little barbecue place in Texas - just becasue we were starving and there were no places we recognized for miles. Card tables and folding chairs, dead animals on the wall, a menu that was 'meat with a side of meat', but HOLY FUCK! That was one tasty lunch...

8. Staying there due to logistics(?).
We're driving to San Diego.
610 miles from home to Flatonia.
And I found Grumpy's on the web and it sounded interesting.

Next day, 690 miles to Las Cruces.
Then 570 miles to El Centro.
Thursday, 115 miles to San Diego.
Meeting a 12:30 flight when my daughter & family arrive from Boston.
The want to celebrate their 10th anniversary in San Diego/La Jolla where they were married.

Miz t. and I will be keeping our 2 grandchildren while the youngsters whoop it up at night.

7. Grumpy's Motor Inn? Can it be?!
She moved to West Texas and opened up a motel?! Kind of like the plot of "Alice"...

:-)
