I used to walk this path.
This is a place called Percy Warner Park, on the outskirts of Nashville. It's a popular place for people to go to when they want to relax for a while. I used to live a couple miles from it, and I enjoyed taking advantage of its wonders on quiet Sunday mornings.

Although it's a road, cars have been banned from it for a few years now- only foot traffic is allowed now. There are unpaved footpaths up in the trees to the right, and to the left is a lake of pure blue.

I miss it. There simply isn't anything remotely like it in Dallas. When I found this picture online just now I suddenly got very lonely for a life that lasted twenty years, and came to an end against my will. It was a good life, and I didn't want to leave it, but in the end I had no choice. Nor do any of us, in the end.

Walk the path with me for a while, and enjoy the cool autumn morning as I used to.

Is there an official list? Need to know, as I seldom leave melancholy. It is my one of my favorite places.

4. The waiting list is thousands of years long.
However, anyone is free to cut to the head of the line at any time.

Melancholy is very polite when it comes to immediate need.

7. I've lived a lot of places in my lifetime
Nashville is the place that always felt the most like "home" to me, even though it's not where I was born and raised.

Odd, that.

8. Absolutely uncanny.
With a few chestnuts strewn around, this could absolutely be the road (also now closed to traffic) down mountain from our house.

I'll try to get a photo of our road this weekend, so you can see. Unbelievably similar. :hi:
