So apparently there is a button thief at the local Goodwill store

That's right, someone is stealing buttons from coats and jackets. Not the coat, just the buttons.

It meant I got a 20% discount on a winter jacket, but I have to wonder - is this person deluded? Stupid? A latter-day spiv? Is there some sort of black market button trade that's flying under our radar? :shrug:
