Unconventional/unusual celebrity crushes
(Okay, before you jump on me, I'm aware this topic has probably been posted 10 million times before here. I'm not authorized to search the topics, and I went back 20 pages or so and couldn't find it, so you'll have to forgive me for bringing it up again.)

Everyone here has to have at least one unusual or unconventional celebrity crush. It either is someone who is pretty obscure to most Americans, or someone who isn't traditionally good looking but you find something very appealing about them.

I've got both.

One I've developed a celebrity crush on is Mindy Kaling from "The Office." She doesn't have really that pretty of a face, but I don't know. I have a thing for Indian girls, with nice dark skin and dark eyes. She sort of reminds me of this girl who used to work a few offices down from me, so I sort of associate her with that.

Also, my obscure crush is Greta Wodele of C-Span. Makes Washington Journal worth watching every morning she's on, even if its a boring topic. I sometimes find myself fantasizing about her whispering "Senate fillabuster rules" in a very soft and seductive tone to me in my ear.

His love of food makes him..... hot

Lots of times he comes across as crass and synical, but then I saw an episode where he was stuck in Beruit during the fighting last summer, and it really showed a human side to him.

47. I think lots of women
have that same crush.

He is dangerous. (recovering heroin addict and thrill junkie)

He is intellectual.

He is attractive.

He is talented - cooking, writing...

He has a wicked sense of humor.

He is married and his wife just had a baby..... dang!

and especially here:

This scene in the second picture was my favorite scene of the movie. When he smashed his head against the wall, that would be something I would do for a girl in real life. I have always wanted my own Nancy, but I'd play the Nancy part for a Sid like Gary Oldman, :loveya: He was great in that movie. Compared to the video footage of the real Sid, he was as close as it was going to get.

42. Courtney Love.
Everybody else seems to hate her, but I just adore the woman. I have kept up with her for years and from what I have read (she chats with fans), she's a real sweetheart. She can be a bit snappy at times, but you know where you stand with her. Also, she has to be the sexiest woman alive, in my book. I don't see why so many people hate her. They are really missing out on a real gem of a person. She really IS very misunderstood. And beyond your average kind of sexy, she's just tantalizing to me. :loveya:

Also, I have always been totally nuts about Deborah Harry. Even in her overweight years, I thought she was the cat's meow. That's one sexy woman. She'll be 80 years old one day and I'll probably still think so. She's 62 now and I still think so. God, she's gorgeous. :loveya:

64. Toni Collette
I don't exactly know what it is she's got, but she's got a lot of it.

So I must say John Goodman trips it for me.
I think Al Franken is sooo hot.

When I was about 14, I was in love with him. Mostly I loved his voice.

And also Freddie Mercury. After he'd died.

ETA: And James Dean.

72. I was looking at my crush list (where I keep track of..
my biggest celeb crushes,) and while some are obscure, I wouldn't call them unusual. They are pretty with seemingly good personalities IMO. Outside of that list, I do have a couple of odd ones. Cat Power and Noelle from Damone.

I was bound to love any actress who takes her name from an F. Scott Fitzgerald character. The flamethrower also helps.

76. Mindy Kaling
Funny thing I found out about Mindy Kaling--she was born on the same day as my wife. Not just the same day, but the same day and year. Maybe it's a subconscious thing.

My little sis would be in great envy regarding you and John Krasinski--she's got a huge crush on him.

You would have been all over him.

Sadly, though, his wife was there with him. :(

Edited on Fri Oct-19-07 12:17 PM by PeterU
In these commericials for Vehix, they simply show shots of people--I'm guessing "customers"--just standing there, looking at the camera.

About halfway through, there's this one girl who I find absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. Dark hair, dark complexion, great smile, looks either East Indian or maybe hispanic. Don't know her name, don't know anything about her, don't know if she's an actual actress or what. All I know is that I cannot change the channel during the Vehix commercial. I don't even know what the hell Vehix is. All I know is that the woman in that commercial who gets about two seconds screen time is very hot.

Totally obscure, I know.

96. Just one? I'm unfaithful to so many of my celebrity crushes, regularly dump one for another...
Tina Fey, Lea Thompson, Amy Sedaris (though she seems scary kind of attractive). But these must all move aside for that paragon of pulchritude, Brenda "Well, Hello!" Dickson.

98. Mary, from some do-it-yourself show in the early 80's
Used to be on in the late morning around 1983. Mary was a stay-at-home mom who was constantly fixing up the house doing painting, drywalling, plumbing and fixing stuff. One standing joke was one of the kids' bicycles was in a current state of "almost fixed" for about six months.

I had a huuuuge crush on her for some reason. Never did find out why.

Anybody remember the name of the show?
