I can visualize next week's Onion headline: SCOTUS awards Bush Nobel Peace Prize.
In a stunning 5-4 decision, The Supreme Court of the United States overruled the findings of the Nobel Committee that Al Gore won the voting for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize and gave the award to George W. Bush. Apparently, there were a number of voters who left chads hanging off their ballots that left some uncertainty in the tabulation of votes. Rather than counting the votes in question, the Supreme Court decided to end any recount and give the award to Bush. As Chief Justice John Roberts said, "We went through some very serious discussions on this, but in the end we figured we might as well stop wasting time since Dubya always has everything awarded to him anyway. After all, this is the man who gave me my job."

Many of the Nobel Committee voters were stunned by the turn of events. While some expressed concerns that with the ballot's unique "butterfly" design, they were afraid that they accidentally voted for Pat Buchanan, most were simply shocked that enough people voted for Bush at all. Committee chairman Ole Danbolt said, "George W. Bush wasn't even on the fucking ballot! There couldn't have been enough write-in votes unless the Committee members thought we had created a new Nobel War Prize!"
