Poll question: Are you more likely to gain or lose weight during stressful periods?
Once the summer ended, I got REALLY busy, stopped looking after myself, and boom--gained 15-20 pounds in a little over a month. Oh well...

1. Stress makes me eat more - the "grab and wolf it down" kind of eating.

3. I think I "medicate" stress with comfort food.
I'll decide a thing at work is worth a good meal or two out, a conflict deserves a nice bottle of wine or booze, and PMS surely needs a little chocolate. I think I've got a mental text book of what event needs what food.

4. Nothing relieves stress like carbs
Well, it may not relieve anything. But it is comfort food.

5. If the past year is of any indication...
I put the pounds on. Big time. They're very slowly coming off now. Being 1400 miles away from the source of your stress has its advantages. :)

11. less stressed, lonely...
but not for him. I come home to a quiet house, and it's a little too quiet. Time to start socializing, but I don't know anybody here yet.

13. During the most stressful 2 weeks of my life I lost 20 pounds.
I have since joked that stress is the best weight-loss plan.
