Every country gives the food from other countries weird names. I mean, the French don't call french fries "Our Fries," And Chicken Madras is never called "Chicken Here" in Madras. And Veal Milanese...you get the point.
I love it when the tables are turned. "Café Americaine" in Paris is just coffee with milk. "La Nuit Americaine" is the practice of using camera filters to make daylight shots appear as if they were filmed at night. US filmmakers call it "Day for Night."
