I seem to have let myself become seriously dehydrated. |
|
About three days ago my legs began seriously cramping, and I then began feeling like I was in the first stages of flu- woozy, extremely tired, dizzy, and on. Then things began letting loose, as it were. I told my sister about it today and she immediately went into near hysterics, telling me I may be a step or two away from the emergency room. Interesting.
It's something I really hadn't thought of- I drink quite a bit each day, only not pure water. Apparently that's not enough.
When I used to be physically active I ALWAYS had a cooler of ice water close at hand, but now that I'm not active any more it never seemed necessary. I guess I was wrong.
The moral would seem to be to keep water flowing through yourself even if you don't believe yourself to be thirsty. Things can get hazardous quickly if you don't pay attention.

1. My dear Prisoner_Number_Six... |
|
Your sister is quite right, sweetie...
When things are letting loose, then is when you need extra water, to replace your losses...
I do hope you're feeling much better now...

5. Yes, you definitely don't want to do that |
|
By the time you feel thirsty, you're already a bit dehydrated, so drink water regularly. Urine color is a good guide; you're striving for a pale transparent yellow.
My wife let herself get dehydrated a while back; she just passed out in the living room with no warning while we were talking (she didn't even know it had happened when she came to, until she stood up and passed out again).
Hope you feel better quickly!
