I got a new one for the Weird Names file
I was doing camera last night for a high school football telecast, and the visiting team had a running back named...

EXCALIBUR HELPER.

Every time he got the ball, I thought, "Look — strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government!"

I think you get an assist in the official DU standings when you set up the joke. So, congratulations!

8. Radio Johnson.
Edited on Sat Oct-13-07 04:08 PM by trof
A guy I worked with for a while in Tuscaloosa.
I thought it was a nickname.
Then he showed me his driver's license.

Seems radio was the big new thing when he was born and I guess his folks REALLY were smitten with the name.

19. And on that note

...the lawyer for the couple we bought our house from was named Dick Short. Our lawyer couldn't stop laughing....it really didn't help that Dick Short was also very short.

Cheers

18. Pretty sure that beats mine
This guys name is Dennis Winnie. As if Winnie isn't bad enough, he marries Isabella Meglashon.

It just seemed like a name from a movie "Godzilla vs. Meglashon".

But those are funny names that happened by accident, not on purpose.
