In the year 2525
A lot of Zager and Evans predictions have happened already, only a few decades later.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=645-i_3ZwHU

In the year 2525
If man is still alive.
If woman can survive, they may find.

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies.
Everything you think, do and say, is in the pill you took today.

In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes.
You won't find a thing to chew.
Nobody's gonna look at you.

In the year 5555
Your arms hanging limp at your sides.
Your legs got nothing to do.
Some machine doing that for you.

In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife.
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too.
From the bottom of a long glass tube. Whoa-oh

In the year 7510
If God's a-comin, he oughta make it by then.
Maybe he'll look around himself and say.
http://www.metrolyrics.com>

Guess it's time for the judgment day.

In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty head.
He'll either say.I'm pleased where man has been.
Or tear it down and start again. Whoa-oh

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wonderin if man is gonna be alive.
He's taken everything this old Earth can give.
And he ain't put back nothing. Whoa-oh

Now it's been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears.
For what he never knew,
now man's reign is through.

But through eternal night.
The twinkling of starlight.
So very far away.
Maybe it's only yesterday.

In the year 2525
If man is still alive.
If woman can survive, they may find...

1. The guy who wrote most of that song is a doctor.
No shite. He's a plastic surgeon named Dr. Jean Cukier. Frenchman. Pronounced Sook-ee-ay.

He said he tries to live it down as much as possible, since his name is apparently not on the record. Not sure which part he wrote.

2. I remember hearing that song in August 1969
on the jukebox at the swimming pool. It always made me afraid of the future. My brother called it "that spooky song".

3. Always loved that song.
Too bad Zager and Evans never had any other hits.

6. I have it on my ipod and play it frequently....
As a kid, I had the 8-track. LOL

Creepy song, but I love it.

11. It is pretty damned horrific.
I don't know if I could stick it on my top 10 -- there's a lot of garbage out there -- but it's up there.

12. Test tube babies.
Mood controlling presciption drugs, more dependence on machines. Back in the sixties many thought this stuff was hundreds or thousands of years away, yet here it is.

14. Now that would be dystopian!
What a dark and dreary future that would be.
