Do you honor baseball superstitions? |
|
I don't especially believe in any of 'em, but I honor most of the ones I know, just for tradition's sake.
Once, I was at a minor league game and the first three innings took something like 42 minutes. I said, "Looks like we're gonna get a quick one tonight," and two guys jumped on me. I claimed innocence because I'd never heard that superstition.
The game ended up going over three hours.

2. That's kinda the way I see it |
|
Like I said, I don't especially believe in 'em, or in any superstition. I just see stuff like not mentioning a no-hitter and not stepping on the foul lines as homage to the game.

You don't use the S-word until after the game is done.
I was seven seconds from a shutout one night, and somebody on the bench said "He got a shutout, how cool is that?" Faceoff, goal.
