Maybe for the fact that it is almost always overshadowed by Christmas. Or maybe for the fact that roasted turkey just smells so damn good. The whole holiday smells so damn good. No need for presents, you just eat. And after you eat, you watch football. Works for me.
Seriously though, I've always had good memories of Thanksgiving since growing up as a kid.
Second place is Fourth of July. I'm fascinated by the notion of thousands of people still being awed by fireworks. But it sure works for me.
Christmas--just too commercialized and way overrated.

Since I live on a fixed income, I don't get to go out to eat much. Every year my Mother will take me to anywhere I want to eat for my birthday. I always pick Red Lobster and get their steak and lobster tail. And as a gift, my Mother always gives me a hundred dollar bill.

17. Yeah, my Mother enjoys Thanksgiving |
|
and she works her butt off for the dinner on that day. It's just the fact that there are no gifts, bla bla bla, that makes it worthwhile.
