2. If a person if forced to earn their living from one, then yes
But at a couple of points I've greatly enjoyed the mutual flexibility that they provide.

13. Depends what you are doing and who you are doing it with. I keep running into
the same people at temp jobs cause we all work for the same agency. Sometimes it makes for a great group of people and lots of fun.

12. I agree..right now I am a temp...
but I think I will get hired permanently eventually (even though the contract was originally three months and TODAY was three months) however I am doing a good job so hopefully....but now its I can't do this cause I'm a temp or that cause I am a temp yet I have the same workload as everyone else. Sometimes it feels like temps are lower life forms.....

16. If you feel that way, then I HIGHLY recommend this movie to you!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118866/

Brief plot summary: Four women working as temps in a shitty office with horrible inefficiences and crappy management. The women become friends. Some items start getting stolen in the office and the temps are suspects. The women eventually turn on each other as paranoia takes over.

Watch it, you'll love it. :)

23. Temping may be the last option for my wife.
Unemployment runs out next Wednesday. She doesn't want to do it and I don't want her to do it, but my salary alone won't cover the bills.

I had to go the temp route once as an engineer. Just as humiliating, especially after one has been accoustomed to a certain level of "expectancy".

I can see where they can be beneficial, like when someone just wants to work part time or be semi-retired. But I can't see an adult attempting to live on a temp job.

For some, their #1 issue is the war, or civil rights, or education. For me, it's the quality of work that's out there.
