Lights Out San Francisco
San Francisco Community Power is supporting Lights Out San Francisco, a grassroots effort to raise awareness about ways to combat global climate change that's being held on Saturday, October 20, from 8 to 9 p.m. On this night, businesses, city and federal government agencies, churches, and individuals are encouraged to turn-off all non-essential lighting to save energy. The Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and much of downtown will be turning off their lights. And 110,000 free energy-efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs will be distributed throughout the City. This event may be replicated throughout the Bay Area and the U.S in the future. Please do what you can to support this effort.
