12. Well, that's why I'm weird. I LOVE all the other creepy crawly critters.
Especially frogs. And lizards and snakes.

But spiders scare the living shit out of me, even little tiny ones.

10. I Had One And Cats
They were fine together. Actually, the tarantula rarely (but occasionally did) get loose. The tarantula was cool, feeding it crickets was not.

14. Not Tarants but SSScorpions ..2 in one week right in my living room,
and then the one that sent me into massive creep-down was the Black Widow in my freakin mailbox. One day after clearing out the 2 scorpion infestation.
I called in the pest control who said scorpions wouldn't bother him as much as the Black Widow.
Scorpions offer a painful sting but are only deadly to kids under age 5 or so. Not good for my 10 mo.old granddaughter.
Apparantly only one kind of scorpion in USA is deadly and they don't hang out in N. Texas.
The Black Widow, however, could certainly have done some damage.
That was a month ago. Haven't seen anything like it since.
Wierd.
I still get creeped out cuz of that.
If I found a damn Tarantula yet, I'd be packing and moving North where the winter freezes these critters out. (Except for the black Widow, I've seen them in Wyoming.

I get the heebie-jeebies over any tiny spider..so this was a bit much for me.

Tks for listening. (sigh)

15. EEEK
Scorpions creep the shit out of me.

Saw a tiny one in my daughter's schoolyard a couple of weeks ago...

:scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:
:scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:

And I think I would have to be psychiatrically detained if I saw a black widow spider.

But for some reason, unknown to me, I am not at all creeped out by tarantulas.

16. I think the size of Tarants is maybe why, they're more like a rodent..lol
Rodents probably don't bother you as much as silent, quick moving spideys with lots of creepy legs..

21. I had a friend who had numerous pets...
the only two that were fuzzy were rosehair tarantulas. :) Very laid-back creatures actually. Just feed 'em crickets and they'll be happy.

The rest of her pets were all of the scaly variety. Some with legs, some without. Oddly enough, I'd spoken to her on a reptile forum before without knowing it was her... until we met later on a dating site and found out she lived right down the street from me.

Never ended up dating, just became friends. Go figure. :)

22. Zero
That is my limit. Anything above that I will quickly and without hesitation slam an engineering textbook on. Possibly two or three.

While screaming.

Get the kitten, and a laser pointer. Great fun!

23. They're useful as bug control, but I wouldn't want 'em as pets.
I like pets that I can stroke while I'm reading/typing, and those hairs tarantulas have aren't for petting. They're an irritation-causing defense mechanism.

28. Hahaha. Yes, at work, but...
... it was dead. I worked at a small facility in the middle of 5,000 acres of desert east of Phoenix; we had a lot of wildlife out there - coyotes, wild boars, jackrabbits, snakes, and (once) a big spider.

NONE. None is the *only* answer to that question! :scared:

We need a smiley that completely freaks out and then runs away crying. That shivering dude does nothing to convey the depths of my horror.

Besides, you don't want to know about the creepy tarantula mills.
