I did something stupid and painful today |
|
It hurts. Blistered the pads of two fingers on molten solder. Immediately after I did it I put yellow mustard on it, wrapped my fingers and stuck them in a cup of ice. Kept them there for a good half hour. Then I put some burn ointment on and wrapped with gauze. Better but still hurts. And of course it will take awhile to heal.
Damn, I feel really klutzy....

prevent blistering. You're really supposed to leave it on until it dries. Or so I'm told.
It did take away a lot of the initial sting of the burn. One of the blisters appeared to decrease in size a bit. Unfortunately, my blisters were immediately visable.

I'm offically jealous.
I think the burn cream contains an antibiotic. Need to double check.
I did not know they made bandaids with silver on them. Perhaps I need to go to Walgreen's.
Do you think gloves would work well with a soldering iron? Would it klutz proof it?

although one of my favorite sounds in the whole world is when some one is soldering a copper pipe joint and the hot solder hits a wet spot.... don't know why..... but I LOVE that sound.....
Welders wear gloves.... maybe you should to???

I was working on a stained glass piece. Most folks don't wear gloves to solder glass.
If you put too much flux on the foil or came you spatter and sizzle. Just FYI.
