It's 5:30 AM on Saturday, why are you awake? |
|
I have a sleeping disorder. I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep until around daylight or so.
What's your excuse?

It helps if I occupy my mind with something else. Like football.

my guys know how to open and shut doors (unless they are firmly shut or locked) AND since they are not outdoor kitties I don't have that option--as for locking them out of my bedroom--don't really fancy the scratch scractch MEOW! slam! slam! MEOW! scratch! slam! slam! scratch! MEOW! that happens with a shut door....

16. Yep, my guys know how to work the doors too. |
|
As long as it's not closed all the way so they don't have to turn the doorknob. Puppy is the smartest one and I'll bet she could do that too if she had thumbs. I think it's funny to lay in bed and watch the door seemingly open all by its self. :D

So I'm watching television on the internet.

I know about the C-SPAN website where you can watch, but are there others you can view without a tuner card?

insists on attacking chairs and plastic bags at around 5 a.m. or so. I've been up since then, and it's hardly the first time. I swear I'm ready to feed this thing into a wood chipper. ... OK, maybe not, but, does anyone want a cat?

...wherein I walk 'em all so that my wife can get back to the old place early to supervise movers. I'm heading on to work, and am leaving extra-early on a Saturday because the commute is now a few miles longer.
We're running on about two hours sleep.

24. See, that sounds like what I'm doing |
|
It didn't start happening until I got to be about 50. Lately I've been waking at about 2:30 AM. Then I go back to sleep around daylight. My dad did the same thing so I think it must be hereditary.
I was taking Ambien every night and that did the trick. But a couple of years ago I stopped taking all prescription drugs. It wasn't easy but I'm just fine now except for this sleeping problem. I might start taking something to sleep again but I'm pretty reluctant. It wouldn't be Ambien, it's addictive. What do you think?

First Luna will come and make feeble attempts to jump on the bed (she is 14 and can no longer do it). which wakes Egypt (who is under the covers) and then it is all about the outside and feeding time.

I just got back up after going back to sleep at daylight. All rested now, that's my goofy schedule. Now I've gotta get ready to watch the big football game at noon: WVU at Rutgers. I sure hope my Mountaineers prevail. If we win out I think we'll be in the national playoff game.
Thanks for responding. I can see there is a number of reasons people are up that time of day: Pets, just coming home from working the night shift, getting stoned, and just can't sleep like me.
