with Neil Young, Cat Stevens (he _still_ looks good) and David Gates. Duane Allmann doesn't do much for me, but I have to admit, I've not seen or listened to the Allmans much.

I have to work on my list of writers.

38. Which book of hers were you reading? That's kind of eerie, isn't it?! Did you know
that she was working as a waitress, and Philip Levine came into the diner and they
started up a conversation about poetry. Next thing you know, she's taking one of his classes.
And I believe that he wrote the forward to her first book.

Maybe you can add her to your next list of 5!

34. In my typical fashion..
while researching something else entirely, I stumbled across a picture of her accidentally, and became instantly entranced by her expressive eyes.

I found out that there was a documentary made about her called Une Suisse Rebelle (2000) that i've been trying to get my hands on it ever since....and also a movie made about her, based on her travels in Afghanistan called Reise nach Kafiristan, Die (2001).

43. I lived next to her home for some time,
and I knew the family's dark history.

I just checked, I think both movies are available here but first 'Une Suisse Rebelle' is in French/German (Swiss-French televison production) and 'Die Reise nach Kafiristan' is only in German.

46. Not next door, but a few minutes away.
I grew up as a neighbor to Thomas and Katia Mann. He was already dead then, but I still saw her a few times as a little kid on my way to school. She was this very old lady getting in this very old car; the door being held open by her driver.

I wouldn't count on English subtitles there. The movie was made for a French-German-Swiss art channel (ARTE), and I've never found any of their productions available in English, and I wanted a few myself. :(

35. Living or dead you say? Okay, first off, Courtney Love...
Edited on Sat Oct-27-07 01:28 PM by Jamastiene
My list:

1. Courtney Love (Yes! I'd so make out with her if I had half a chance. I can't help it. She is a tall, blonde, gorgeous, sexy goddess to me. I don't stand a chance, but still...
2. Deborah Harry
3. Joan Jett
4. Nancy Spungeon (ok, technically didn't make it as a musician but she could sing)
5. Kurt Cobain

On edit: Oops! I could have read the instructions better. Sorry, RTFI is not one of my strong points. In any case, everyone can ignore everyone I mentioned in 6 through 10. I'm such a :dunce: today.

6. River Phoenix
7. Joey Ramone (I soooo wanted to have a son by him.)
8. Otep Shamaya
9. Sid Vicious, just because
10. Iggy is God.

That's my list. Oddly enough, it's split right down the middle with the males/females ratio there. I normally don't touch men if I can help it, but as you can see, when it comes to musicians, especially punk rock musicians, I sometimes would go bi. Of course, half of my list is also dead too, unfortunately.

42. Awww...only five?
:P haha. OK, I'll give it a shot, although mine will probably be considered cheating...

1) Any/all of the guys from Monty Python (because they're writers/artists, yes?) :D
2) The Beatles (well, maybe not so much John - *ducks flying rotten fruit* - he's just not my type, but he wrote some bloody good songs, so I wouldn't totally rule him out, you know? ;))
3) Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, and/or David Gilmour (Syd mainly for his looks, Roger mainly for his lyrics, and David mainly for his smile and guitar playing. Yes, I'm shallow, so sue me.) :P
4) Roger Daltrey (circa 1970) - sure, he's only as tall as I am, but that hair and that chest and that voice... :9 Very nice! (I wouldn't say no to John Entwistle, either - from that era or any other.)
5) Josh Groban (nice voice, good-looking, and only a few years older than me! ;))

OK, so there you have it - my probably-incomplete-even-though-I-cheated list of writers/artists/musicians I'd make out with in a heartbeat. :hi:

First, I'll second mvd's pick of Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles. The rest of my list would include Michelle Branch, Anna Nalick, Bobbie Gentry (if I could time travel to the late-sixties), and Ann Wilson of Heart (if I could time travel to the mid-seventies Dreamboat Annie/Little Queen era).

(I may be forgetting a more obvious pick, but I shouldn't give this too much thought as I'm supposed to be working on a research paper right now anyway!)
