I need to learn sign language. Is it online, or best to learn in class? |

1. Better to do it in a class ... |
|
There are actually regional differences (almost like dialect or accents) that can be fairly significant, so what you see online won't necessarily be accurate for your area. You might be able to find a decent ASL (American Sign Language) site, but there are different forms of sign language. Might be helpful to research what type you need. Good luck!

4. Forgot to mention one VERY important thing... |
|
Signing is only half "learning how to move your hands". The other half is learning how to "read" sign language (called "receptive sign"), particularly in context - almost impossible to do that in anything other than a live class situation. Again, good luck!

I got an ASL dictionary and picked up a few words here and there. You really need to take a class. I did learn enough to cruise the cute, deaf, guys though. :-)
