and my room mate "Sharon".
Yesterday we went on a scouting trip to locate various Indian Casinos with good rules for card playing and video poker. Wasn't supposed to be anything except a car excursion and field trip. To find the best tables and machines.
As usually happens we find a few places with good rules and start kickin it.
So I think I'm doing pretty well being up $500.00 for the trip. BUT She turns four aces at the video poker THREE times. Together we clean up nearly two grand for the day spread over three casinos.
Well it was her turn to pay the rent.
Times to read "Busting Vegas".
Note: Compulsive gambling is a mental illness. Or at least neurosis. A real card player never raises his bet unless he knows he at least has a small advantage.
Gambler? Stupid!
Experienced card or video poker player with several years study and experience? Great way to make a buck.
These advantages exist in:
Poker
Blackjack
Video Poker
and maybe some other like sports betting but I'm not into those.
And you REALLY have to work hard at learning and memorizing the various indexes to squeeze the smallest percentage advantage out of the house. Especially nowadays. The casinos have turned to rule changes, constant surveillance and recordings of conversations. Even out in the parking lot.
However advantage gambling offers flexible hours, friendly atmosphere (except when they boot you for raking in too much) and sizable earnings.
You just have to have steely nerves. Your money comes and goes in big clumps.

Just don't get cocky or reckless. "Gambling" is a fools game.
Helps that I'm not particularly greedy or materialistic.
Thinking of bring my daughter into the game when she turns 21 next year.
