They say there is no such thing as "bad sex," but I don't agree.
To me, sex is the physical pleasing of the partner. Highly important!
Poison levels must be maintained. Get the poison out as frequently as possible. :D

I'd say it'd be a reasonable factor, but the emotional bond means more.

Frustration can build up and sabotage the relationship if both partners aren't happy in bed.

It is VERY IMPORTANT!
Without it, marriages can, and do, fail...
Or at least they can find themselves in trouble...
Especially if the trouble has come up slowly, insidiously...

I have a remarkable talent. I have never once in my life had less-than-amazing sex. I push people to do their best and then get better.
Anyhow, people who are otherwise compatible and not too emotionally fucked up can work things out on the mattress/shower/tabletop/floor/lawn front.

In the past, it hasn't long term. Fortunately, I'm now married to a sensitive, kind man who is my best friend and can be a total freak when duty calls. We make each other feel normal when well, we aren't (and that's ok.)

I used to think it was important. Now I just think it's deviant, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I call people I'm sexually but not emotionally compatible with either a) one night stands, b) sex buddies or c) nice to look at. And that's it. No emotional compatibility = no relationship.

I've gone from a sexually unsatisfying and mostly sexless marriage to my current relationship where I am in perfect sync with my mate. We feel so comfortable with each other and the sex certainly makes our relationship even better. Yes, it is certainly not the most important part, but without it a relationship can fail. I basically left my marriage because of it (or lack of it).
