Nothing's more depressing than a women's dressing room mirror
I look like 800 bags of blubber in those things. I've even lost about 11 lbs. and can only imagine how hideous I must have looked before.

1. Yeah, you'd think that they'd put in mirrors that are flattering given that...
they're trying to get us to buy something. I know that they make mirrors that do that because I have one mirror that always makes me look better than other mirrors do. That mirror could make me buy anything!

3. I hear you. I can look in the mirror at home, and think I look reasonably
good. Then I got to the department store, try something on, and look so bad I want to burst into tears.

7. Yes
We were at the Grapevine Mills Burlington Coat Factory last night, and they had scads of nice women's suits. I think Mr. DTBK was shocked that I found three that I really liked, plus a pair of brown pumps - we had ostensibly gone to shop for him! I had already splurged on a new red leather rolling briefcase yesterday - on days I have to go to court I have to walk around a LOT, and my old briefcase gets very heavy after a time.

I don't mind the way clothes look on me in these mirrors - just the sight of my "natural" self makes me want to run screaming from the room! These mirrors seem designed to make one look as dumpy and frumpy as humanly possible. I don't look that terrible in any other mirror!

13. lol
you just made my day. When you call me weird.. it's like angels decending to kiss my cheeks.

Then I totally grab an angel's face and slip in a tongue.

omg.. did I say that? and am I about to push "post message" ?

15. Do what a few friends of mine do.
Go with a friend and a digital camera. Take a few pictures of yourself in the outfit in a few different directions, then look at the results in the camera.
