1. Done. These freaks absolutely enrage me.
Sick fucks.:nuke: People who take a trusting, helpless creature and abuse the animal should be punished swiftly & severely.

3. Snopes offers some hope:

http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/vargas.asp

If it is true what Snopes suggests, that the dog was not mistreated but only advertised as so for the purpose and duration of the art event in order to call attention to the fact that those viewing the skinny dog "on display" decried his plight, yet so many of them would walk by the same dog on the streets without giving him a second thought... then I can appreciate what the artist was trying to accomplish.

If, as Snopes suggests, the dog "escaped" at the end of the art exhibit, it suggests to me that the artist's intent was not to make the dog suffer, but the "escape" was necessary to preserve the artist's credibility. Without that credibility the artist would never have received the widespread attention he did.

The artist may well have been doing a great service for homeless animals. I hope that turns out to be the case.

5. The gallery is claiming the dog escaped, but I don't buy it.
How can a weak, starving dog escape from being tied up? I think the gallery is trying to cover their own ass. In any case, it's shameful and inhumane to keep the dog tied up and starved for even three seconds, let alone three hours. No matter what the outcome was, the actions of these people were despicable.

Oh dear God, what is wrong with some people?

Words fail me right now- I did sign the petition.

Where the hell was the Humane Society ( or equivalent) in Costa Rica?
