17. Ice is for the first 24 hrs after the injury; then apply heat (20 mins on, 20 mins off)
and moist heat is the best.
I'm PM'ing you re this.
Feel better! What a week

More often, I get pain in the right trapezius, but I don't think that's related. It's what I call "mouse shoulder."

7. When my Grandfather was a kid
He pitched a baseball game without warming up and tore his rotator cuff. It really didn't bother him until he became 70-something-years old. Then it really flared up and he had to have surgery on it. He had to walk around with this pillow strapped to his body so that his arm would stay extended.

14. Ouch!!
You have my sympathies. I got it getting up from my low-lying couch. Actually, the real damage was probably done when I fell while gardening, but for some reason, getting up was the straw that snapped my tendons.

Take care, and don't get too worked up over it. It's a real pain, but the surgery isn't too rough. And you get prescription drugs!!

21. It might not be torn
I thought I tore mine once, but it turned out that something--might have been the rotator cuff--slipped under my collarbone somehow. Really painful, but it straightened itself out with a couple of days of rest.

27. I wish I knew what I did to hurt myself this time.
Usually I do know what I did.

I think somewhere between the ladder climbing, roof watering, and box loading, I did a number on myself.

Am pretty sure I will not be on the verge of evacuation for awhile...so there is that.

35. I don't even know where to begin.....
...here's a post from someone in a Vikings Forum I post to. I think it says it all:

The problem is that we don't have the QB or WR and no chance of doing so this year. Why don't we have those things? The team had every opportunity in the off season to address these things but failed to do so. (I'm not sure about WR because I do believe that they did go hard after Curtis)

We are where we are because of failed intentions by our organization and coaching staff. Not because of what we see on the field but because of what we don't see. That QB and Wr you're saying we are missing.

The onus is on the organization and Childress not the players. The bad play and game plans are on the coaching. They have little sense within their ranks to correct the problems we have witness now for these 7 games. Save for the Chicago game and even then it was a nail biter up to the end.

We are disillusioned fans. We are because of what we have to witness because of failures of the organization and coaching.

We do not have to knuckle under to the cries of others who are willing to accept ineptitude. We as fans are not against the players or the team. we watch because we are fans even though they continue to lose our trust in the coaching and organization for not at least giving more of an attempt to at least make sure there was a competent veteran QB to ease the tensions we feel about what we are witnessing.

Coaching is such a large part of the game. For years we saw Belichic win with lesser talent and now we see what he can do with good to great talent. Childress may not have the appropriate talent but then he does not know what to do with the talent he does have.

He is set in his ways and believes that his system is the right one. Problem is he doesn't have all the talent necessary to run it and the talent he does have he is misusing because they are not really WCO guys.

I have no plans nor desires to stop watching the team I love. I have no desires to give up on them. What I do have a feeling of though is that this team lacks coaching more than it does a QB or WR. They certainly need those two things too but without good coaching it won't matter and we will be in here for the rest of the year making the same statements about how the coaching is hurting this team. The players are trying and playing hard. It may not always show but that is because their talents are being used in ways most of them are not able to perform. So of you're going to stand on your line about showing improvement than expect much more of the same from those of us who spot shoddy coaching because it will be forth coming unfortunately. That is unless Childress sees that what he is trying to do is not working and realizes that change is in order, but with his ego don't look for it too soon.

39. This has been a hard year for us Vikes fans.
The good thing in this for me, is that the pizza joint right around the corner from our house is the home of the SoCal Vikings fan club. So we do not have to pay the exorbitant fees to DirectTV to be able to see the Vikings, we just walk around the corner, pull up a chair and buy lunch and watch. And it is good to be able to commiserate with 80 other fans, and not be throwing bricks at your own TV...

33. Wait, wait, wait - surgery? There are a dozen other less drastic scenarios that
are more likely than KW having to have surgery. One step at a time.
It could be nothing more than a muscle strain, which would be a happy
resolution.

My co-worker had that happen - she tried therapy but it didn't work for her (then again, she didn't do her exercises) so she had to have surgery. I don't think it goes away on its own.

Take care of yourself!! I hope they can help you with exercise and therapy.
