2. Broncos, of course!
It's gonna be a tough game though, because the Packers look great this year.

It'll also be my only chance to see Brett Favre play, so I'm certainly looking forward to that.

7. Here's hoping you get to see Brett break several career game records

I was at the Oakland game right after his dad died. By the end of the first half even the Raider fans were applauding him.

12. What is it with people around here being so dickish about this sort of thing?
It's a game. They lost. Big deal. They're my team, I root for them.

Remember this mantra, sports fans! It's. A. fucking. Game.

13. You asked for it....
Sorry, it was cruel. But listen, I live in Minnesota, and my team is so effing brutal that I can't even bear to watch them, so I plead permanent inanity. :-)

17. I used to live in Minnesota - Skol Vikings
When I go to the local Vikings Fan Club viewing of the game this week, I will be wearing a paper bag over my head.

4. Yeah, becuase they're SOOO terrible.
They only won 90 games, only swept two playoff opponents, only won the National League pennant, and only got beat by the best team in baseball! You're right! The Rockies are a complete and utter joke!

5. I envy you.
I'm rooting for the Broncos, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

I wasn't happy with the results of the world series. On the other hand, I got to watch the Avalanche win yesterday (on tv--not live).

15. lol
Dude, I didn't mean to bust your chops in my previous post about would you cheer for Favre. I meant it in the way of cheering as an achievement of a record not in winning the game but I suppose it would be nearly impossible to separate the two. You got to see a nailbiter, that's for sure! I'm envious because I'm far too poor to ever afford the scalper's costs to go to a Packer game. And really, once Favre leaves were probably going to have another 30+ year losing streak, you know? People here are so nuts that they'll still sell out every home game even if the don't ever win again.

16. it won't be THAT bad
but it won't be good when favre does decide to retire. at least we'll have a fairly good set of recievers, a better than average defense, and a kick-ass (pun intended) kicker...

just gotta draft well and play the free-agent thing smartly...

if nothing else, there are plenty of players that would kill (figuratively speaking) for a chance to play for the packers, they command that kind of respect in the league. not because they win all the time (they don't trust me) but the whole mystique of playing for the packers makes some players lose their heads. and let's face it, the packers have two of the biggest homefield advantages in all of sports: the fans and the weather. nothing makes visiting teams regret their own existance than playing in green bay in december.
