Mom freaked after kids read article on Russian nuclear exercises |
|
http://www.sentinelandenterprise.com/Stories/0,1413,106~4994~1915849,00.html?search=filterIt says "fake", I don't know why, because the Russians are having a massive nuclear readiness exercise. Poor kid.... /sarcasm Now he can join the rest of the 30-somethings who were nigh convinced(I was) Reagan would trigger a full-scale nuclear exchange before we were out of high school. Wimp.

...stuff like this. If we get nuked, we get nuked, the best we could hope for is to be in a city so it's instantaneous.
We were convinced we would get nuked in the 80s, hence, little or no interest on politicians or the games they play.
There is not as big an absence of 30-somethings involved in politics(stupid chimp forced a lot of us back into the game), but the hole is still there.

one of our favorites and I had to explain the duck and cover thing. Seem to remember doing that in Catholic grade school many years ago. What an absurd concept to think that that would have made a difference! Great movie for adults and kids or those with a bit of nostalgia.
