2. I assume flashblock blocks flash animations.

What exactly is Tor? I'm looked up the extension, but they didn't explain much.

On edit: I just looked it up. Pretty cool stuff!

7. Flash block turns off any Flash based parts of a web page automatically.
Edited on Sun Nov-11-07 10:13 PM by leeroysphits
It saves a great deal of load time. Kills a lot of unnecessary spam and in the end gives you the maximum amount of choice in what your computers processor wastes effort on or doesn't. It's a very cool add on. Very handy.

Any flash bashed ad or video on a web page is replaced by a little "F" logo. If you want to view it then simply click on it. If not then it remains unloaded. Seems like no biggie until you realize just how much of the useless CPU wasting garbage on the web is FLASH based...

Edited to remove a stupid extra "D"

11. Yeah, I know what you mean.
NoScript basically does the same thing, plus it blocks javascript and XSS. As far as browsing goes, it's one of the best things I ever installed on my machine.

5. Flashblock seems pretty popular so far.
I go the whole nine yards and block both flash and java with NoScript.

9. Just the basics- AdBlock Plus, Video Downloader, and ColorZilla.
Video Downloader is my fave, even though it's not my most often used.
It captures and saves Flash video streams (like YouTube) in two clicks.

12. I've considered an add-on for downloading YouTube vids.
Yep, this is definitely a thread worth bookmarking. (Actually, I tagged it using my del.icio.us add-on. :P )

14. I'm REALLY glad I got VideoDownloader last year.
Some of my faves have disappeared from YouTube since then;
more of the BEST stuff is getting pulled every day.

If there's ANYTHING on YouTube that you like, grab/save it NOW.
Tomorrow may be too late.

10. Flashblock is a must for me.
I still have dial-up and flash animations used to murder my speed. That and adblock have helped a ton.

13. Even with DSL, it's still a godsend.
With ad block and NoScript, I'll choose what runs on my browser, thankyouverymuch. I've also noticed that I find fewer tracking cookies since I started using them.
