I'm now officially overweight
Edited on Mon Nov-12-07 09:45 PM by Cheney Killed Bambi
I just weighed myself. 205 pounds. I'm six feet tall, which pretty much means I'm overweight. Sigh. I need to start exercising more and eating better. I have a job that keeps me at the office all day, so I pretty much end up eating high fat crap for dinner every night. So now I'll have to discipline myself to eat healthier, and I'll have to make sure I drag my ass to the gym regularly.

Sigh.

1. I weigh just as much and I am 5'10" tall
And chronologically 35.

I've gained some muscle and am sweating less, but I've got a way to go. And I'm going to get there because, if nothing else, I'll prove the insurance companies wrong when, having "cleaned up my act" because it costs sooooo much to fix up heavy people, they'll find new ways to hike up the "premiums" anyway; I can think of 5 excuses right now, but I'm trying not to be a cynic... Okay, not to be too much of a cynic...

3. I'm 5'11" and weigh 230.
I'm not overweight. Your scale shows a number. It's only relevant if you are truly overweight. What size jeans do you wear?

4. 38
I'm not roly poly, but I'm definitely getting flabby. When I'm not overweight, I wear 36 jeans.

Actually, my 38 pants are starting to feel kind of tight. Bleh.

6. Yup
But I've been getting home late from work, so I haven't been going. Looks like I'm going to have to start waking up an hour earlier.

7. So maybe you can set a goal for 3 days a week?
Weight training and cardio? It's just an hour. You can do it.

10. I think that will be my goal
I'll do both weekend days and one weekday. The weekend is easy for me, it's weekdays that are tough.

15. I eat two healthy meals a day
breakfast, where I just have oatmeal, OJ, and coffee; and lunch, where I have a meatless mozarella and tomato sandwich. And then I usually eat a high fat crap dinner because I'm working late in the office and end up ordering Chinese. I've been ordering Sushi more often though, and should probably pick up the pace on that.

18. Consider breaking your 3 meals a day into 5 or 6
smaller meals. Keep that metabolism up, keep the hunger away?

17. I am now morbidly obese - but just barely
I managed to shed 10 pounds in the past three weeks by doing two things: (1) Cutting down on my portions, and (2) Walking at least three miles every Saturday morning. One time, I pushed it to just under five miles, and although my feet were killing me, the rest of my body felt great.

I recommend the walking strategy. Find a good path, or just take a couple of laps around your local shopping mall. It's much easier for you to jog than it is for me, so if you want to cut loose, by all means, go for it. And don't forget to hydrate - very important.
