Who else is dreading spending time with all those damn people tomorrow? |
|
My sister-in-law is so standoffish, and keeps getting weirder over the years. We haven't seen her much over the last year, even though she lives 10 minutes away, because of this. My brother-in-law is a chest-thumping type... whatever you've done, he's done it dozens of times and he's an expert at it. One of my nephews is rude to my kids. My mother-in-law is just strange, and honestly she isn't a good cook but thinks she's Paula Deen or some shit. And none of them understand my Thanksgiving Day Lions game obsession, being that I'm going to be the only Michigander there (damn outsider!).
*sob*
I'm already thinking that I'll be coming down with a "migraine" (do the finger quotes) about 10 minutes after we eat.

2. It's your thang, do what you wanna do. |

I'm not dreading it nearly as much as usual. I know I'll be insulted, and probably offended at some point. The difference now is I know that they all have their freakyness and I don't give a shit anymore. Oddly I think I have the lounge to thank for that. I don't blame you for planning to catch a headache. Hope it goes better than you expect. :)

My "step" uncle/aunt/cousins (thank god we're not related by blood) are INSANE FUNDIES. They stopped letting their kids watch teletubbies after the "tinky winky is gay" thing happened. You're not allowed to use the word "magic" around their kids (like... can't do magic tricks or w/e), etc. The best part is the "christmas pageant" their kids' school put on last year, about the rapture and how the jews and athiests are going to burn in hell.
Lucky for me, Canada's thanksgiving was last month, so I probably won't see them for another year.
