Johnson, Hayes, and McKinley are probably Bush's role models.

1. Rutherford B. Hayes was the only one of the bunch...
...to have a Great Plains song written about him.

The grandfather of Woody Hayes
Saw the future in a sudden gaze.
He couldn't believe they lost the Michigan game.
I'm Rutherford B. Hayes!
Rutherford B. Hayes.

2. Oh, yes. And Arthur & Johnson were the only two...
...who were NOT from Ohio!

And Johnson was a Democrat.

3. You all should read about Tilden vs. Hayes
Shades of 2000. Or should I say 2000 had shades of Tilden vs. Hayes.

4. President Grant, a great patriot.
He understood that reconstruction was a necessity. Shame on those who ended it prematurely. We could have has a civil rights revolution 75 years sooner than we did.

5. An overly maligned President.
Grant was above all a decent human being.

6. Kind of odd to see.........
.......no pre-Civil War presidents listed in this poll. I don't care for any of those choices. I vote for James Monroe.
