TOP 5 Of Anything!
TOP FIVE STEAKS I HAVE EATEN!

1. NT STRIP: The Lean-To in south shore of Lake Tahoe. we are talking way back in the sixites. Charred n the outside, grilled to perfect red on the inside. Little teeny place, and you could see the lights of Heavenly on the mountain. Burned down around 70 or so, ironic cuz it was right next to the firehouse that is still there.

2. Rib eye: Alfreds' NYC. I was 13. 4th of July 68. Saw the ad for "ALL YOU CAN EAT STEAK" on the airline mag. Tried the others and ended up here on the last night of the visit. So good my dad, never the big tipper, gave the cook 20 bucks (n 68 money). Only flat grilled steak on the list.

3.NY Strip: Harris Ranch. On I5 by Coalinga CA.Everytime the best. So tender you can cut it with a fork. perfectly done, charred...

4.NY STRIP: Granitos, Granite Bay CA: Grass Fed aged. The place only seats about 15 people and the cook yells and swears at you, but at the end of the night you all are best friends. exhibition kitchen. Menu changed daily, all fresh and organic. Kind of like old North beach tratorrias...

5. Rib Eye. Well over 2 pounds. Sportmans Hall Pollock Pines CA. one of those old school family style places. Big plate of anti-pasto to start. Tureen of clam chowder (with the clams in shell) or minestrone, big bowl of salad, pasta then this humungeous steak. about 3 inches (NO SHIT!) thick and five inches long. It was like a side of beef. The chef told me how to tell if a steak is done perfectly there (his were). Mouth watering. Only ever saw one person eat one all the way and she ws a 100 lb girl. And she grubbed all the otehr stuff before too. I used to take my leftovers home and ahve steak and eggs and dinner out if the next day. damn I miss that place. Only about 15 dollars in the eighties too.

1. Top five members of the Iroquois Confederation
1. Seneca
2. Mohawk
3. Tuscarora
4. Oneida
5. Cayuga

I know there'll be some controversy of leaving out the Onondaga (not to mention moving the Johnny-come-lately Tuscaroras in the bronze slot), but I assure you those Onondaga were straight up punks who never let you forget it was they who guarded the sacred fire at the gathering of nations in council.

...and don't even get me started on those Mingo!

6. Top 5 most "craptacular" places I've been to in my life...
This is based on my experience, and on my travel over the past 15 years.

1. Pusan, Korea (Dirty, stinky, crowded, and very, very rude people. Seoul was fun though.)
2. China Lake, California (Nothing to do there, and everyone is "creepy". Like a town in an X Files episode)
3. Mogadishu, Somalia (Pretty much self explanatory)
4. Sasebo, Japan (Expensive, isolated, and very rude people who DO NOT like Americans very much)
5. Biloxi, Mississippi (Racist rednecks with money, casinos, and that's it)

7. BEERS I have dranked.....
Old Rasputin. On tap at the brewery. North Coast in Fort Bragg CA. Dinner in a glass. the thickest heaviest Imperial Stout on the planet. On nitroge the casccade is ust spectacular.

Sierra Nevada Summerfest. On tap at the brewery inN Chico CA. The most drinkable micro brew ever. So flavorful, yet almost light.

Brother Thelonius. North Coast again. An incredible Belgin ale. Very complex flavors. If you have ever had Fat Tire, imagine that with all of the flavors dancing around in your mouth instead of being all skrunched down like Fat Tire.

Jamaica Red. Mad River brewng. Humbodlt Nation. An enourmously hoppy unflitered Red.

Coors. The first time I went to red Rocks to see the Dead we did the tour thing. At the end you get a couple of beers. After smelling all the hops and grains for a couple of hours that beer was true heaven.
