car keys the other day, so I had to get a ride to work in a large, moving Torb, which wouldn't have been so bad if the Zuul who was driving it hadn't had such awful breath and hadn't insisted on listening to "Lite FM" radio, you know, the brain-clogging stuff that treacles out of the speakers like auditory Karo Syrup; plus the Torb was that old-style sort that you hardly see any more since the new mandatory phlogathane emissions standards went into effect, and its flux capacitors, which were clearly about to flame out, made this awful high-pitched humming sound that combined with the soul-destroying rendition of "I've Got You, Babe" by Mantovani that webbed-footed malodourous Zuul idiot was grooving on (while driving with only one tentacle, mind you) made me want to wrest the controls away and plow the Torb right into the Starbuck's on the corner, but I didn't because those old Torbs don't have passenger-side airbags, so instead I snapped the Zuul's cranial protrusion off with a deft flick of my numchuks, commandeered the Torb, turned the radio to NPR and made it to work on time; the best part was that as I stepped out of the Torb it emitted a few little crackles and flashes of blue light and vanished into the closest singularity, so everything worked out OK, though I still can't find my car keys, but it was the kind of day I haven't had since last year,...
