I lived in Flordia years ago, I actually lived at a small hotel on Miami Beach. I think it was at the intersection of Collins and 63rd.
Where are you in the ME,... I am in New Mexico in the Southwest US.

I lived in North Florida. I now live in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. I like it, when I'm not mad at the neighbors.

I meet people from all over the place here. Just on my block, we have people from Canada, Argentina, Burma, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, France and other places.
I've been to Cloudcroft and Ruidoso (sp?) a few times, and loved it. I also went to Carlsbad Caverns when I was 8 months pregnant.

...for me it will be a while. In late March I will have been here 2 years and you see how far I've gotten. I visit almost daily but I just don't talk much for trying to read so many threads before I get in trouble for spending too much time on the computer.
Good Luck!

I had a few campaigns to write about for a while and I got most of my posts then. Now, I think people will get tired of reading I'm outraged and appalled! over and over again, so I don't post much.

19. Don't feel bad about it |
|
I came to DU the day it opened in January 2001, didn't make my first post til June of 2001, and only had around 300 posts when they switched from DU1 to DU2. However, since then my post count has exploded.
Sometimes you just don't have a lot to say and that's alright. :-)
Good luck on your quest for 1000 today.

26. here are a few things about me: |
|
I'm supposed to be on a diet now, but tonight I ate some cinnamon croissants and then some chocolate milk followed by half a large chocolate bar. I finally kicked the habit of going on a diet on Monday only to go off of it by Tuesday by moving to the Middle East, where Saturday is like Monday. So I go on a diet on Saturday and last til Sunday.

my husband went off without me to the Dubai shopping festival,so in revenge I am neglecting his kids. Not really, I can hear every thwack a stick makes when they hit each other or one of the unfortunate neighbor kids. If I can hear them I'm not neglecting them!

called Florahome. It was pretty but I didn't like it. I is close to Gainesville and St Augustine, both of which I like very much, but even closer to Palatka, which I didn't like at all.

through Florahome. There is a gas staion, plant nursery, thrift store and post office. That's it, except for several mobile homes and a few traditional homes. I got very, very, very bored there.

...North Florida is pretty boring, Gainesville being the exception of course. Palatka hooked their star to the construction of the Cross Florida Barge Canal. When that boondoggle fell through, the area really never took off.

the poor guy has such mixed feelings about the place, but I pretty much disliked it from the start. It isn't a good place to raise kids, but it took him a long time to see it. While we were there we tried our hardest to do our part to improve the area, but it didn't work all that well.

On a Monday morning in Florahome the roadside was littered with beer cans, and on a Saturday morning here the recycling bins are full of wine bottles. Slightly different atmosphere, you could say.
