Mississippians--how are you faring with all these tornadoes coming through
Rowdyboy, I hear there is a tornado headed toward your hometown.

Other Mississippians, how are you doing?

I have two big oaks down in my driveway--it's a half-mile long--so I am stranded.

A tornado is west of my county, headed this way. :scared:

1. I hate days like this!
I live in Alabama and they always come right up 20/59 towards my house. The last big tornado that came through in Dec. 2000 killed 13 and destroyed homes 1 mile from my house.

Wish I had a basement.

Stay safe everyone.

6. Thanks...
I am going to my folks' brick house in a little while...I am in a wood cabin on a bluff over a creek...not a good place. :scared:

3. Things are fine on the Coast so far.
Not even any rain yet -- we'll be getting some, though. We don't get as many tornadoes down here as they do upstate.

4. We have had heavy rain and lightening all morning
Lots of talk about tornadoes but no sirens yet....

My dog and I are celebrating his 5th birthday today by staying warm and dry, watching Star Trek TNG reruns, and catching an occasional weather bulletin.

Gave him cheese scrambled eggs and a piece of buttered toast for breakfast. That, added to the thunder, has kept him right by my side!

You guys in Alabama have a real mess headed your way-IF it ever leaves here.

5. I've been thinking about you...
Wish I was your dog--what a breakfast!

Brookhaven has eight MP&L poles down on I-55. Tornado came through there a little while ago. The bad stuff should hit us in about 30 minutes.

7. Pearl River County is bracing
We are expecting heavy rains and winds and maybe hail in about a half hour (1100 EST). I've picked up and secured anything in our one acre which might fly away. Ya'll take care. Love Ya/BH

This freaks me out. Plus, my son is at school, and I want to go get him.

9. Don't worry.
If the sirens are going off, they will most likley have the students in their tornado areas.

11. Thanks JC
I know...oh shit I'm scared.

I lived through a tornado when I was in fourth grade...hit my school. Elvis did a benefit concert to help my home county rebuild.

Anyway, I am a little PTSD about tornadoes. :scared:

:hugs: for comforting me.

13. Its really slowed down here...Just peaceful rain
Sorry about the bad tornado experience-one hit our high school on the last night of Christmas break in January 1972. Our "vacation" was extended two more weeks while they re roofed and repaired everything but at least no one was hurt...

15. Kicking
How is everyone? We got storms this morning (I am just north of Mississippi) but no tornadoes, thankfully.

This kind of weather always freaks me out. I hope everyone is okay.

16. It's still rainy here, but very peaceful...
I am having to drive around the downed trees in my drive until I can get out there tomorrow with the chainsaw and go to work on them.

Will have a nice campfire around which to sit and enjoy drinking a few beers this weekend, though.

We had rain throughout the day ut not even threats of severe weather after about 3pm. I'm really sorry.
