W00t! A long shot paid off for me!

Back in November (Nov. 6th, according to my records, exactly!), I was surfing the Waterloo ON online business directory and sending resumes to any companies I thought might be looking to hire technical writers. Today I got a call from an avionics/aviation firm to which I'd sent a resume, at the time strictly "on spec." They're now looking for a tech writer, and they actually called *me*! YEEEAAH!

The moral of the story is, I guess sometimes long shots do pay off. (Maybe I should go against my principles and buy a lottery ticket?*)

*The reason I'm opposed to lottery tickets on principle is because lotteries are a (voluntary) tax on the innumerate. :)
