58. III's got hits and misses
but I absolutely agree "Since I've Been Loving You" is an absolute killer of a song. It's a gem that gets very little airplay, which makes it that more special, I guess.

My favorite has to be IV, with every track a home run. Those were the days.

17. Houses of the Holy
"No Quarter" and "The Rain Song" show two sides of Zeppelin at their finest, with the usual Page rave-up on "The Song Remains The Same" thrown in for good measure. Considering what a task it must have been to follow up the masterful 4th album, they really pulled it off. This album mines reggae, folk, pop, and funk effectively (and humorously), with none of the poor blues rip-offs of the early albums. I usually list this one as Zep's best.

Where is the confounded bridge? (Best pun on a rock album ever)

19. No votes for "Presence"?
That's their most underrated album alongside III, maybe even more than III, because that one at least had "Immigrant Song" as a hit single. "Tea For One" shreds my boots in two. Page plays his best blues since III's "Since I've Been Loving You", and Plant nearly sings them without sounding like he sucked on helium beforehand.

I like it.

"Nobody's Fault But Mine" is a good one. "Candy Store Rock" is cool, too.

The only Zep I don't own is Coda. After hearing it at a friend's house, I figured I didn't neeed it.

25. Yeah, I like the raw, obnoxious sound to it
I got into Zeppelin when I wanted to find the roots of all the Gothic stuff I was listening too, and unsurprisingly it all led to Zep, The Doors and Sabbath..

39. Presence rocks....
And you're right that plenty of Gothic roots (I'm talking music now) can be traced back to Zep, not the least the underrated Presence. It's probably their most consistetly "raw" and intense album. Recorded in 18 days---a VERY short period of time for the band---it came about due to a near-fatal car crash involving Robert Plant and his family. The resulting injuries forced the band to cancel a year's worth of tour plans, and the resulting album reflects much of the tension and anxiety they were feeling in their lives at that time.

Achilles Last Stand is a crushingly brilliant example of Page at his best as guitar wizard and album producer. And Tea For One is an excellent example of them at their slow-blooze best.

You have good taste, my friend.

41. I once got in a fight with Boy George...
It was at the Odeon in NYC in about 1986. I got up to take a pee, and when I came back, George had stolen my chair. Well, I protested, quite naturally. He stood up to confront me. Dude was TALL! Words were exchanged. Shoves were exchanged. He knocked me over (I was very drunk at the time). The management kicked ME out!

I still think I could take him...

As far as your musical tastes go---hey, whatever gets you through the night, baby.

Not too much into the "look at me - the tortured artist" schtick. Decent rock music. But take 'em or leave 'em - I could go either way..

45. Floyd vs. Zep? I like them both...
And most Zeppelin fans I know appreciate the peculiar musical genius of The Floyd---at least up to and including "The Wall."

Floyd fans, on the other hand, seem to have a bit of a chip on their collective shoulder about Zep, I'll grant you that. I don't know why, except that Zeppelin is perhaps too "rawk 'n' roll" for them. Yet every Zeppelin fan, for instance, recognizes the way Page and Plant admired Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez, among many others. Guess we're just more open-minded!
