Anyone get sick over the smell of "heavy" meat cooking?
Lately I can't be in the same house with mom is cooking pork or beef cuts. Now it's not because I'm a vegetarian. There's just something about the smell of heavy meats that makes me sicker than a dog.

(Mostly chicken and turkey eater here)

1. Poultry cooking smells make me nauseous.
I am a vegetarian for 10 years, and I never noticed this until recently. Our most trendy markets here have rotisseries with several fouls cooking on them; complaining does no good, even though a large number of their customers are vegetarian (and many are vegan).

2. I'm with you there
And, I love pork and beef (No mad cow for me, I grow my own, same goes for the chickens)

It does get way overpowering, so we shifted our cooking outside, where we do about 95% of all our meat. Luckily, we live near the tropics so we can cook outside in a t-shirt year round.

If on occasion meat is cooked indoors The Boss (Mrs Eureka, not Bruce Springsteen) has to burn incense in all the rooms of the house.

9. Thanks
Queensland is heaven, you're friends are lucky too :-) Drop in when you come to visit them!

Plus, as an added incentive, Steve Irwin's zoo is only 20 mins from where I am, you can go and refine your parenting skills while you are here!

11. Oh. OK.
Maybe it's your sinuses.

8. As an old friend used to say:
"Come on over and we'll throw a little beef on the fire and bourbon on the rocks."

12. Lamb has a strong smell when cooking and it can overpower someone
however when I was pregnant I would get sick at the smell of beef cooking.
