Historians....check this out! 1775 Map of Boston and its Harbor
One of my favorite pastimes is perusing the historic documents/manuscripts on Ebay. So interesting to read history when it was really happening. Anyway, this caught my eye....

Here is a complete, ABSOLUTELY GENUINE issue of the GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE from England dated January, 1775. The titlepage of this issue has a nice wood engraving of St. John's Gate (see photo). Within the pages of this issue is some content concerning events prior to the Revolutionary War in America, including a report of: "Account of the Proceedings of the American Colonists Since the Passing of the Boston Port Bill" which includes a lengthy Proclamation signed in type by: Tho. Gage. But the prime content in this issue is a great foldout map titled: "A Plan of the Town & Chart of the Harbor of Boston, Exhibiting a View of the Islands, Castles, Forts & Entrances into the said Harbour". This map measures about 12 by 15 inches and is in very nice condition save for some light offsetting.

1. Nice and you could see it, the city, was almost an island.
Back Bay must have been mid 1800's if I recall right. Logan also filled in a lot. That as to be in our age.
