what are your favorite online news sources?
i am curious because i want to add them to my site http://GlobalFreePress.com

if the are in xml format i can add them easilly... if not them i will have to write a parser for the site if possible - unless you already did ;->

let's make the best alternative - to the lamestream - news ticker for citizens of the world - who speak english... for now ;-> - that open source and gore have provided

I already have added DU, BUZZFLASH, YAHOO TOP STORIES and GOOGLE to the ticker and many others - like COMMONDREAMS and YELLOWTIMES - to the static blocks - in the sites right column - updated all the time =)

click on the popup window link - top, center column - to see it in action.

also the code is available to add to your own web pages as well...

and webmasters can grab the raw xml/rss files here...
http://www.globalfreepress.com/rss

any suggestions?

:hi:

9. i've had enough of the echo chamber...
that is how they come off to me, print, radio and teeVee they always seem to be on message for the most part.

and they pick MANY topics that i would not consider hard news for commercial reasons and i wanna try to avoide those sources.

i had to write the code to convert DU, BUZZ and COMMONDREAMS headlines to xml since they didn't exist so i am very selective about what sources i will use.

thanks for your input just the same :toast:

i know the BBC could be considered mainstream but i respect them for their reporting during the iraq war, the journalist and editors anyways.
