4. And where do Dems that play, play golf? |

My husband plays, but on public courses. Could never afford to join a country club......nor would he want to......nor can he afford the tony fees at the swankier places.

5. My dad always played on public courses. For one thing, |
|
he was Catholic, and up until he was in his 50s or so, he couldn't have gotten into a club anyway.
He was so loved by the workers at the city course he played at that many were at his memorial service.

6. Even public/municipal courses aren't always cheap |
|
Playing a round on the weekend with green fees and a cart can easily set you back $50. That's not counting beer, the golf balls you lose in the woods or the water, or the $200 golf club that you smash on a tree trunk after hitting ANOTHER crappy shot into the woods.x(

Muni golf is a totally different thing from country club golf.
Country club golf has this elitist smell and expensive pimento cheeze sandwiches.
My local muni has a great deal, green fee is 12 bucks after 2:00 PM. During the summer it doesn't get dark til 9.
Carts are $18.00 for 18 holes for those who don't realize that golf is a walking game. If you're a democrat or assorted liberal and talk to mrbill who runs the cart barn in the evenings, then you get a discount.
Not a bad course. The front nine was designed by Ralph Plummer. The back nine was designed by Jack Shafer and has some devious Augusta-type greens. On #13 you can putt the ball into the water from the back of the green.
Talk more about the weather than politics.
on edit: spell check and spacing error harpy
