12. That would work...
I must confess that I'm actually not torn between either a frequency analyzer or Gonkulator. I just wanted to post a thread title that would make most people reading it ask, "What in the hell is he going on about?"
However, I have acquired a couple of new toys in the past few weeks:
A low pass filter. I spent this afternoon running a contact mic and tape loops through it.
and
a Moog. Which I found in a thrift store. I was convinced that I would die in a car accident on the way home.

Yes, I am a gear queen.

17. It has always been one of my three thrift store holy grails...
the other two being a Les Paul and a first edition of the Alcoholics Anonymous big book.
Somehow I don't think the postman will ring twice. Or thrice.

11. depends what you're after, and what you're running into it, what else is in the effects chain...
...etc. I think the gonkulator is a lot cooler, but isn't really nearly as good at being a simple ring mod. I've got the moogerfooger ring mod, and I absolutely love it. It's a great ring mod, and also makes for a really good, though bizarre, tremolo. You may also want to check out the ring mod that frost wave makes. I've never used it, but when I've heard their effects, they also sound very nice, and it has great features.

19. it's great, but I haven't really used it in ages
almost all of the music I play now is acoustic. I have the moog ring mod and filter, and I love them both. What sort of thing are you looking for this pedal to do for you, or are you just after a new toy? Now that I think about it, if you have a chance to get a gonkulator cheap, you should pick it up, because I think they haven't been made for many years now. Times were when you could get them for $20 - 40, but I think they've actually appreciated in value, since they're just so damn strange. Electro Harmonix hasn't discontinued anything for a long time - I think the FA will still be made in a year.

16. Both are worthless without an interocitor
Unless you want to turn an integrated circuit into a pile of smoldering silicon and molten solder!

And remember, use only Genuine Interocitor™ Parts from your local stocking dealer!

25. Only if you have a late-model one
You need ones that conforms to ISO 9407, you'll be okay. But an awful lot of them were made in Japan to JIS S 5037 and don't have the option of switching between ISO 9407 and JIS S 5037.

If you have an American or European one or a switchable Japanese one, you're okay. If you don't, get one.
