need to tape the chimp tomorrow. VCR help |
|
Will it work if I leave the TV off (VCR on of course)? How about the sound, does it have to be on? Or maybe leave the TV on and have shut off automatically in 2 hours since I have to leave at 9.30? I'm sure it's somewhere in the manual, but just finding the manual will probably take 2 hours.
Where do I find the VCR+ code for it (google didn't help)? Fairly new TV and decent VCR with VCR+
thanks in advance

The VCR should work regardless of what's onscreen (or not). (Same as if you're watching one channel but taping another.) You could just have it tape the program by itself, too.
p.s. a bit of a warning here -- I got a new VCR last year, and the first time I tried to set it for automatic recording, I assumed that it was like my old one (which only worked if you put in the tape then turned the machine off prior to the programmed time). Didn't work so I looked at the manual (and you thought only guys did that!) -- turns out that I needed to enable the special "record" button on the remote clicker.
Have you got cable? Is it the kind of VCR where you have to plug the connector right into the machine (and then another cable goes into the TV)?

4. can you try an advance run? |

Key in another program to start, say, 15 minutes for now, and go for 5 min or so. You shouldn't have to erase your program for tomorrow -- the machine should allow the storage of several different ones.

Set the program time & channel (need a TV Guide for the VCR+ code), turn off the TV, volume doesn't matter.
Make sure your TV and VCR both have the special "Simean" warranty, as serious damage may occur.
