Ok, we need to set a standard here |
|
There's an ongoing bug on the board that produces identical posts. I know they're working on it - that's not the issue.
The question is, which one to respond to.
I'm proposing that we always respond to the first one, and the only allowable post on the second one is a "dupe" reminder.
Discussion?

That way there will statistically be the same chance for either post.

9. When it happened to me |
|
the first one didn't show up on my 'my posts' list, so I wouldn't be able to see if anyone responded to it.

15. Most of us don't need a "dupe" reminder |
|
We're well aware that we posted twice as soon as we check the thread. This happened to me twice today; I wasn't sure if it was my ISP or DU that was at fault. I always try to self delete the dupes as soon as I can.
I'd say, just respond to the first post, and give the poster the benefit of the doubt. It's embarrassing enough to do this, without others pointing a finger.

It actually happened inside this thread.
Based upon responses, I've changed my mind. It looks like the # one doesn't work properly, so we need to respond to the one that's actually got a number.
