What's worse than a freeper? |
|
A cheap-ass freeper. Lemme 'splain:
Mrs. Robb's company is being bought out by a "family team", which could best be described as "daddy's getting me a company of my own". After the first meeting, where father and son touted the virtues of Japanese corporate structure ("They have it right, keeping the women out of the business structure") and marriage ("My second wife suddenly thought that since we were married, she could start having a say in how things were run") to a senior team where half the VP's are women, I decided it would be a fun project to look the dynamic duo up on Opensecrets.org, to see how their campaign contributions played out.
Bear in mind these guys are buying a pretty big company, as well as millions of dollars in local real estate, and coming back and forth on their wholly-owned Learjet, etc.
Their donation to the RNC this year?
$500.
$500?!?
Not only horrible people, but even unwilling to support their own horrible agenda to an extent reflected by their own equity.
Pray for the future of the republic. :eyes:

1. I looked up a wealthy relative.. |
|
of mine once and was shocked to see his contributions in the low hundreds. He is a big GOP enthusiast, Clinton-hater, etc. And by wealthy, I mean in the tens of millions.
I think these guys must find other ways to contribute, unless they are just stringing the GOP along. I'm thinking nepotism, memberships in exclusive golf clubs, all the good ol' boy kind of stuff.

2. Sounds like your wife needs to keep her ears open... |
|
And if all the women are out of the upper-levels of the business, she needs to document and document and probably be ready to dial your attorney. Good luck to Mrs. Robb in this not fun atmosphere. Are there any other companies that would like to have her on their senior team? Because now might be a good time to put out feelers. Duckie

3. Don't be deceived by small amounts in OpenSecrets |
|
I know a man who is annually arm-twisted by his company into contributing more than $10,000 to PACs for Tom Delay, yet his name does not show up at all in the OpenSecrets database.
I don't know why, but I know he is not alone -- many others.

I have no idea of how that legally works, but it sounds like a loophole that needs to be closed.

|
Edited on Sun Feb-08-04 05:22 PM by Rabrrrrrr
their kids' names, and their company's (or companies') name(s)?
They may be spreading it around from different avenues.
